JAWS is a program for patrons who are completely blind. It reads the screen out to the patron thru the headphones (attached at the back of the computer).

If the patron is having difficulty understanding the reader in JAWS, they can change the voice in the options menu. For some reason, JAWS does not always allow the user to enter information (like email addresses and passwords) while the program is running. If you encounter this, help the patron to turn JAWS off and enter their user ID and password for them. The other option is to have them use Zoom Text instead. Zoom Text does have a speaking function and it interferes with programs a LOT less! I generally just encourage use of that anyway!
